"Dog, The Bounty Hunter" Book Signing

Saturday night was a little unusual for Woodstock and for us too.  We had "Dog, The Bounty Hunter" (Duane Dog Chapman) stop by our local book store to sign his new book, "Where Mercy is Shown, Mercy is Given".  For those of you scratching your heads saying who the heck is Dog, the Bounty Hunter.........he has a show on the A and E Network where he brings in the bad guy who has skipped bail.

There were about 800 fans that came out and waited in our City Park for him to arrive.  It was 9 pm before his bus arrived and people were cheering like crazy when they saw it pull up!  His wife Beth, Leland from the show and his daughter were with him.  Below are a few photos from the event.

Here's the tour bus they arrived in for the book signing.

Look in the background of the photo below and you'll see Dog and his wife Beth following the officer on their way into the book store.  Dog had just stopped at the Gazebo in the Park to say "hello" to his fans.

This is the cover of his new book.

And here's me giving myself up for DOG!

What a hardened criminal!!!!!

We had a blast on Saturday and thank the girls at Foxtale's Book Shoppe for bringing Dog to town!

Decorating with Vignettes

Welcome to another week of Show and Tell Friday.....the "My Romantic Home" blog hosts this event every Friday and here are some decorating ideas, from my home, that I'd like to share with you this week..........

Don't you just love to decorate?   I've learned so much about decorating, by having a home decor shop.  I was fortunate to train with a frequent guest redesigner from HGTV's Design on a Dime show.  So I learned from the best!

Using what you already have in your home is so much more economical these days.  Sometimes using it in a non-traditional way can give it that punch you are looking for in your decor.  But my very favorite thing about decorating is grouping items together in vignettes.  Groups of 3's seem to work best.  But 5's, 7's, and 9's also work.  For some reason an odd number is the right combination of items.   It's easier for the eye to process.

And incorporating the out-of-the-box ideas into your wall decor can really bring a room alive!

These are all photos from my home.  And they are the result of my decorating play-time!  Hope I have given you some great ideas and have inspired you to create some beautiful and unique vignettes in your home.  Sometimes the most unconventional can bring you the best result in decorating!

Candles, Candles, Candles......

It's "White Wednesday" time again!
And here are a few items in our shop that are definately White Wednesday treasures!

Do you love candles as much as I do????  There is nothing like a wonderfully scented candle to make your home feel so warm and comfy.  Of course they come in all colors, but I like the basic white colors, ones with a powerful scent.

Trapp Candles are my very favorite.....perfect to burn before that company comes over.  And you can still smell the candle the next day all throughout the house.

For something fun, or for your patio this summer, our wine glass candles are just whimsical enough for a party atmosphere.  This one will make you feel just link a "Princess" .

And for a feel good time, our Tyler Candle, especially in the "Glamtastic" scent, will simply make your day!  Who doesn't want to be glamtastic?????

Candles can be ordered at http://http://www.houseandgardenboutique.com/

A Great Read.....

Do you ever like to just get lost in a book sometimes?  Well, I had forgotten how fun and relaxing it was to just get lost in a book.  There is a local book store that opened 2 years ago by us.  And we are so lucky to have such a treasure close by.  The name of the store is Foxtales Book Shoppe and I am hooked on their books and events.  Last Thursday they had southern author Wendy Wax there to chat about her new book, Magnolia Wednesdays, and to also sign copies for attendees.  Her good friend Karen White, another well known southern author, was also at the signing.  So it was a special treat for all of us that attended!    If you are looking for some good summer beach reading,or just great books, be sure and check out both author's books the next time you are at a bookstore.

Show and Tell Friday!

Welcome to another week of Show and Tell Friday.....the "My Romantic Home" blog hosts this event every Friday and here are a couple of photos I'd like to share with you this week..........
As the years pass I have become more and more of a doll lover.  Maybe it's because they remind me of being a carefree little girl.  One weekend, a few years ago while out antiquing, I ran across this gorgeous antique wedding doll.  I just could not walk away without purchasing the doll.  And now she sits in our guest bedroom adorning the dresser from my childhood room.  What a diva she is!

And with another holiday coming up, I'll be sporting my favorite apron on Easter! I've always been a fan of bling!  And of course, it's always fun to be "Queen of Everything", even if it's only for one day!  Gotta have your fun when you can, even if it means sporting an apron like this in front of your dinner guests!
It's good to be QUEEN!

Thanks for stopping by and visiting..........

White Wednesday Treasures!

It's "White Wednesday" time again!
And here are a few items in our shop that are definately White Wednesday treasures!

I just fell in love with the concrete sitting angel, when I laid eyes on it at a vendor showroom......it looks so peaceful perched on a table..................

And everyone needs a wrought iron flower basket for the Spring!  Or it could be used as a magazine holder.  Either way, it makes a statement and just adds grace to any room.

Plates are one of my favorite things and this one just looks beautiful when out on display.  All eyes stop on this gem everytime!

Our Feed on the Word Scriptureware is just perfect for a Sunday dinner or an upcoming Easter brunch or gathering.  A must-have for family occasions!

Signs of Spring??

Just the other day I noticed something yellow popping out thru the greenery on the trellis at the store.........
Yes, it was my Carolina Jessamine telling me that Spring is not far away!

And my Yuletide Camelia is bidding us farewell for the season.......with the last of the bounty of beautiful blooms!
However, we are expecting snow tomorrow in Atlanta.
What do they say about March?????......in like a lion, out like a lamb........????
