Book Signing Event!

Next Friday, May 7th, from 1-3 pm, we are very excited to say that Johnnie Gabriel of the restaurant, Gabriels, located in Marietta, GA, will be at our store to sign her new cookbook, "Cooking in the South".  Cooking is definately in her genes, as she is the cousin of one of America's favorite cooks, Paula Deen.

Since 1989, Johnnie Gabriel has been in the business of baking.  Many of her recipes have been included in Paula Deen's Desserts cookbook, in the "Cooking with Paula" Magazine and on the Food Network's website.  In 2003, their restaurant, Gabriels, tripled their space and expanded the list of desserts and delicious foods to serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner six days a week.

They are located on Whitlock Avenue in Marietta.

If you live in the Atlanta area, please join us at House and Garden Boutique for an afternoon of fun and even some wine!

The "Cooking in the South" cookbook will be available for purchase at our store for $24.99.

Please call the store at 678-494-5800 for additional information and to RSVP.

Book Giveaway!

Check out one of my favorite blogs, READAHOLIC.  This blog reviews some fantastic books on a daily basis.  And because I am addicted to reading, I thought I would share this giveaway with my followers and customers.  They are doing a book giveaway this week for the following novel......

Some girls aren't meant to be "proper". Anna could explain that better than anyone. Even though she was raised to act a certain way, she could not deny her free spirit. She was a "rebel" who didn't play by society's rules. Even though this made her an outcast, she was proud of who she was and stayed true to herself.

Doesn't it sound like a great book to read?  To sign-up for the giveaway go to this link:

Good Luck!

Arthur Court

We are thrilled to have added the Arthur Court line of serving pieces to our inventory of store products.  They have many items that retail now in the $20 and $30 price range.  Serving platters, deviled egg servers, salt and pepper sets, bowls, measuring spoons and more!  What a wonderful wedding or shower gift it would make.  It's an especially touching house warming gift too.

Aren't these serving pieces beautiful?  What a nice addition to your party table!

Saturday Night Out at the Right Wing Tavern

My very favorite restaurant of all is the Right Wing Tavern, right here in good ole Woodstock, GA.  Their atmosphere is so much fun!  And the menu, well that in itself, is a a reason to make you stop by and see for yourself.
When you first go there to eat, the server will give you a lesson on how to read the menu.  All the items are name after politicians.....some local and some national.  The salads are named after former First Ladies and the sandwiches are named after local politicians.

Last Saturday night we stopped there for a special treat out on the weekend.

My husband had "The Purdue".........doesn't that look good!  It's his favorite.

And I ordered their Legislative veggie flatbread pizza.....called "The Protester" on the menu....yum!

While we were enjoying our meal we were able to watch the NCAA basketball tournament on their projection screen TV.

So next time you are in Woodstock, check out the Right Wing Tavern, you'll be glad you did!
Their fabulous menu is listed on their website.
