Meet Daisy and Tulip

Just had to share these photos of my two kittys.........the first picture is of my oldest cat, Miss Daisy.  She is 12 years old and an animal shelter rescue.  Miss Daisy is tiny, but mighty!  And she loves her Saturday morning sunbath!

And here comes Tulip, her 10 year old sister.  She's known as the sassy one!  Just look at those eyes, she knows how to tell a story!

They are so much fun and really know how to cuddle up and enjoy a relaxing afternoon!  The best part of the day is going home to snuggle with my two babies.......and hubby too, of course! 

White Wednesday

Wanted to share some items that I have in the shop that fit into the "White Wednesday" theme.......When I was antiquing this past summer I just had to have this beautiful antique chair............it is so elegant & simple.............and makes such a nice display piece.

We just received another supply of our floral wire sets at the store this Spring.  The set includes a 5 inch clear glass vase, a flower wire with clear beads and an organza gift bag.  Makes a fabulous birthday gift or Mother's Day gift.  

These birds on a branch are an absolute favorite of mine.  Reminds me that Spring is not very far away.  Perfect for a sunroom or family room!

 

And this weekend I picked up this lovely, eclectic piece on another antiquing adventure.  Just couldn't resist it!  I might have to find a place for this in my home!

Antiquing at Lakewood

What a fun weekend we had in Atlanta......the weather was just gorgeous (60 degrees)!  So Sunday we decided to trek on up to Cumming and see what was happening at the Lakewood 400 Antique Mart.  Here are some photos of the fantastic items we saw on our sunny/warm adventure out Sunday afternoon!

Here was Mr Peacock out strutting his stuff!  What a great piece of art!

And these playful roosters were joining in on the fun!

Found these unique glass flowers too.....they reminded me of the Bellagio Casino in Vegas.

Another vendor had the most beautiful steeple shadowbox displays!

And I just fell in love with this cherub base lamp!

And oh my......and this burl wood dresser just took my breath away!

These items are all on my wish list!

Lakewood Antique's Mart is the 3rd weekend of every month.  So if you are ever in the Atlanta area, this show is a "must see" for your list of exciting things to do!

Welcome to Show and Tell Fridays!

I wanted to share with you a couple of items that I just love and cherish......the first is my Mother's beautiful serving platter from her good china.  The pattern was called "Damask Rose" and it is so simple and elegant.  My Mother passed away in June of 2006 and I so dearly miss her.  So in honor of my Mom, I have hung her china serving platter on the wall in my dining room.  Every morning I can see it from the kitchen when I grab a cup of coffee.  I don't ever want to forget what a great Mom she was to me & also my sister.  It just warms my heart every morning when I see it hanging in the dining room.  It makes me not miss her so much.

As roses are my favorite flower too, the second item I wanted to share are these cute rose floral arrangements, that I discovered at an antique store.  The flowers are beautifully arranged on a wrought iron stand.  They are so danty and unique, I just had to buy them and put them on my dining room buffet.  They just compliment the rose platter so perfectly!

Just got in these beautiful french motif marble tiles at the store.  They are embellished with an elegant &  delicate silky ribbon.  Each tile is 4 inches square and they can be hung, displayed on an easel or used as a coaster.    Each one is unique in itself and such a delightful piece of artwork.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day all!  Today my boys took me out to MaryMac's Tea Room in Midtown Atlanta for brunch.  Wow, what a great time we had this afternoon!  There is nothing like some good old fashioned southern cooking.  We had some fried green tomatoes for our appetizer and then I enjoyed their meatloaf, with a side of carrot & raisin salad and a cheddar & pear salad.  And of course, I had to wash it down w/ the traditional drink.....a good ole southern mint julip!  They have some homemade cinnamon rolls that are out of this world too.  And their cornbread rolls are not too shabby either!

Winter Wonderland!!

Check out this beautiful snow in Atlanta......we haven't seen much snow since living in Connecticut.  Miss it especially around the holidays!  Yesterday we had 4 inches of snow in the metro area.....everyone is having so much fun with it!  We don't see it much here, so we really wrap our arms around it when we get it!  The store is open today for your Valentine needs!  Happy Valentine's Day!
